Why on earth did I build a shrine to a minor character who only had about 5 lines (not even as "herself", she only spoke when she was posing as the Queen) in one Star Wars movie?
Something about Sabé just intrigues me no end. I'm not even sure if I can pinpoint it exactly. There is very little known about Sabé, but I think that is part of her appeal. Sure, it would be great to know more about the girl behind the mask, but sometimes less is really more. I find Sabé an interesting character because everything about her isn't spelled out for you.
We do know that she is a young woman who is willing to die to protect her Queen and best friend. How can you not to admire someone like that?
True, she only has a few lines.. but she is crucial to the ending of TPM. If Sabé had not distracted the Neimoidians, giving Amidala the chance to get the upper hand again, they would have escaped and brought even more forces back to Naboo. Sabé's appearance gave Amidala the vital seconds she needed to capture the Viceroy and re-take Naboo.
Sabé is an extremely brave and loyal young woman, that much we can tell from even her brief appearances in TPM. Although she is very much appreciated by we handmaiden fans, she is quite under-appreciated by general Star Wars fans, so I thought she deserved a shrine.
